Q: My certification is with another organization other than PADI. Does the Long Caye Dive Shop accept my certification so I can go diving on your trips?
A: PADI, NAUI, SSI and ACUC are other scuba certification organizations that we accept. Persons with these certifications may dive as certified divers diving with us. If they want to take a course, they would receive the certification from PADI.

(DAN) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit medical and research organization dedicated to the safety and health of recreational scuba divers. Founded in 1980, DAN has served as a lifeline for the scuba industry by operating diving's only 24-hour emergency hotline, a lifesaving service for injured divers. Additionally, DAN operates a diving medical information line, conducts vital diving medical research, and develops and provides a number of educational programs for everyone from beginning divers to medical professionals.
It costs $29/year to join, and for an additional $25-70 per year you have a choice of a variety of insurance plans. Divers should consider this excellent coverage.

Just off our island
resort at Glover's Reef, Belize lies "The Wall" - the stunning coral-covered face of the
continental shelf, where the sea floor drops away to 3000 feet in just a
mile. Rated one of the top deep sea diving areas in the world, it rivals
any location in the Caribbean, the Red Sea, or the South Pacific. The top of The Wall is seen in the photo of our island above, where the bright white sand line meets the deep blue of the ocean.
This page contains information and prices for diving on our private island, which is 70 miles from Belize City. Diving at our island is not available without purchasing a Belize vacation package which includes hotels and meals in Belize City before and after the trip, transport to and from the island, accommodations and meals on the island, soda and beer on the island, and kayak and windsurf gear and instruction.

Guests often take time off from our activities to go scuba diving. In addition to dives for certified divers, they provide Discover Scuba/Resort courses that permit non-divers to train and continue to dive for the rest of the week. The student’s doctor needs to fill this out; PADI no longer recognizes a simple note from the doctor allowing the student to dive. Areas of concern for diving fitness include: diabetes, respiratory problems, circulation problems, heart problems, major surgery, and asthma.
